The 2019 race season started at Pedalhounds Round 1 at Canada Heights MX Circuit for the Double Drop Factory Race team.
Unfortunately not everyone could make this round so the team consisted of Ben Matthews (Senior Men), Katie Beaven (women 16-39) and myself Will Brett-Atkin (Hardtail).
We were blessed with incredible weather that felt more like summer than mid winter. The trails were dry and tacky and everyone was in a great mood, the perfect way to start race season.
There were 4 stages that consisted of two very short stages through tight woods and two slightly longer stages that were all out sprints with riders reaching upwards of 30mph which is pretty fast for such short stages. Each stage was ridden 4 times with all 4 stages x4 laps being added up to create your total time.
The team did a great job with everyone making it into the top 10 in their categories and I even managed to get onto the podium in 3rd place.
Next race will be Pedalhounds Round 2 Land of Nod
